Cefn Saeson Comprehensive School

This project at Cefn Saeson School, Neath is typical of one of the many installations we carry out at UK schools every year. It's a new build project we carried out with Morgan Sindall, who are building a new home for the school as part of the 21st Century Schools and Education Programme. 

The new seating consists of a power operated retractable system, meaning the platforms can be closed away at the touch of a button. For added convenience, the rails simply nest to the side of the platforms when the seating is closed away. 

Our Accolade chairs look stunning in red, and the plastic wraparound covers to the rear prolong the life of the upholstery. Accolade is a really popular choice with schools; tested and certified to the highest level of the British strength standard for ranked seating, it's hardy as well as smart. 

Once the seating is open, specially made fabric drapes (not shown) can be added to the sides of the system. These both look neat and prevent curious students from investigating beneath the platforms!

As it's made by Audience Systems, this retractable seating system should last the school twenty five years or more. Perhaps the children of today's pupils will enjoy the view from the seats in years to come!
