Audience Systems Gains Gold Sustainability Status

We’re proud to share that we’ve gained gold status from the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS) – another recognition of our commitment to continuous improvement in the area of sustainability.

Funded by all the major players in the UK construction industry, SCSS was set up to allow contractors, subcontractors and suppliers across the UK to access high quality resources to help them improve sustainability. At the heart of the scheme is a vision of “an industry where everyone will have the skills and knowledge to deliver a sustainable future”.

Over the last two years at Audience Systems, we have been accelerating our sustainability programme. We’ve worked with specialist consultants to measure carbon emissions and formulate a challenging but achievable carbon reduction strategy. We’ve been in the lab, checking the effect of our products on air quality, measuring product emissions against BREEAM, LEED and WELL standards. We’ve been investing in machinery and equipment that uses materials more efficiently and uses less energy, with further investment planned this year. We’ve also, with the help of SCSS, been making sure that we have robust measures in place to safeguard the rights and wellbeing of our people, looking at areas such as mental health, fatigue and modern slavery.

Compliance and Business Improvement Manager, Paul Rigby said, “Sustainability is a complex subject for a medium-sized manufacturing company to tackle, but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t. We’re undertaking this journey with a continuous improvement mindset and a sense of ambition. I’m delighted we have achieved this status which highlights our hard work on all aspects of sustainability.”
