Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
Glasgow, UK2366 seats
Audience Systems designed, manufactured and installed fixed and removable seating for the main auditorium of this prestigious arts space.
Built in 1990, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall is one of the largest dedicated concert halls in the UK. The building was designed by Sir Leslie Martin, who also designed London's Royal Festival Hall, in association with RMJM architects of Edinburgh. It's now managed by the city's community, arts and sport organisation, Glasgow Life.
For this refit of the impressive main auditorium, Audience Systems provided Espace chairs throughout. The chairs in the stalls utilise Audience Systems' 'Matrix' System, ensuring that they can be quickly removed in groups. Timber accents on the chairs tone beautifully with the space.
Audience Systems also provided the choir benches which form an integral part of the auditorium, and are finished to match the audience seating.
Graeme Ironside, Special Projects Officer for Glasgow Life said, "Audience Systems were professional, helpful and very customer focussed in all dealings within this project. By giving a clear timeline for decision making, they aided in the successful completion of the project within the very tight window allocated for the programme of works. The Audience Systems team on site worked well and informed of any issues to enable these to be dealt with quickly. The project went up to the wire timewise, but the new seating has enhanced both the auditorium aesthetic and the customer experience."
