Arena Riga - The BackgroundArena Riga is the latest in a series of ice hockey arenas to be constructed in the Baltic region, and was built initially to host the 2006 World Ice Hockey Championship. Beyond that, however, the arena's designers envisaged it becoming Latvia's leading venue for sports and entertainment, hosting ice hockey, figure skating, music events, basketball tournaments and dance productions. The design therefore had to be of a lasting high quality.
Experts in Arena SeatingThe design team knew of Audience Systems' reputation for providing first-rate seating solutions to large arenas worldwide, and Project Manager Riho Remmel, who had previously worked with the company at the Saku Suurhall in Tallinn, Estonia, approached the company to provide the entire package of spectator seating for the arena. The package included over 10,000 Accolade chairs for the general seating areas, including some on retractable seating platforms, luxury chairs for private boxes and folding chairs for the arena flat floor area. |
